Transit Hub “I – Kherson” Zaporizhzhya, 63a Synenka St

The greatest humanistic value is human life, as well as the preservation and development of human potential.

When creating the “I – Kherson” Project, we were guided by these considerations and set the goal – to create a comprehensive system of support and integration of residents of the occupied part of the Kherson region, who are forced to evacuate and find shelter in other regions and abroad.

The first step to achieve the goal of the Project is to establish a Transit Hub that will receive internally displaced persons from the Kherson region.

Thousands of residents of the Kherson region are now trying to leave the occupied territory and get territory controlled by Ukraine through the only available route – the Zaporizhzhia region. And all these people must be temporarily given shelter, psychological help, fed and helped with further resettlement, housing, employment, etc.

Uncertainty about the future is a deterrent to evacuation. Those wishing to leave for the territory controlled by Ukraine do not understand what will happen to them, how and where they will live. Very often, people do not have the savings to meet their own minimum basic needs, which holds them back even more.

Meeting the basic needs of those in need is an important element of the Hub’s work, which should help people make the decision to leave more quickly, as well as help them integrate more quickly into new living conditions.

The issue of provision of essentials becomes especially urgent, because there are many people in the Kherson region who belong to socially vulnerable categories of the population (pensioners, people with disabilities, single mothers, low-income families with many children, etc.).

Regarding evacuation.

Today, the combined efforts of transporters, volunteers, public and charitable organizations, which carry out the evacuation of the civilian population to the city of Zaporizhzhya.
